The royal countenance of this young Rastafarian singer is aptly reflected in his name “Prince Theo.” Like the Ethiopian princes of ancient realms, he strives for a life of purpose with consciousness in both himself and his art.
Raised in a Rasta family and anointed by the holy waters of bath fountain in eastern Jamaica (which draws visitors from the whole world) where he gets his powers from, and are reflected in him physically, spiritually and artistically. Cultural lyrics and a fresh positiveness are the signs of his music. His talent is a natural gift and this becomes clear when Prince Theo humbly explains his abilities “Music adopted me spiritually as I was ordained by the vibrations of the Almighty-it’s a natural mysticism.” His early recordings “Jailhouse” on the Linx Label, “Gi me di Weed” on King Jammys, “Jah rules” and “Natty on ya” on Trinity records earned him rave reviews and significant exposure on the international music scene.
Reggae heavy weight band Morgan Heritage featured Prince Theo on Volume 1, 2 and 3 of their “Family and Friends” compilations and “Gunz in the Ghetto” & “Shashamane”
One of the artist recent works is called “Eastman project” with his bredrens from St. Thomas. The first single from this project “Three wise men of the east” was released on the Morgan Heritage label as well.
Prince Theo has performed on various stages in Jamaica, America and Europe including but not limited to: Satta Massa Gana, Rebel Salute, East Fest (JA), 1999 and 2001 tours in Switzerland and 2002 in Canada. He recently participated in Irie FM 2003 Big Break competition. The brainchild of Irie FM's marketing manager, Brian Schmidt stated "I'll tell you something, a lot of the talent appearing in this competition is better than many of the acts that people are paying their money to see on stage shows, I'll also tell you that the work of some of these contestants is better than some of what is played on air." Prince Theo was the second place winner and graciously admitted, "I submitted four songs because I heard about it on the radio and dealt with my manager about it, and out of the 540 entries, they selected 12 and I was lucky to be in it and also among the first four. So, it has been a wonderful experience, and I have no regrets that Live Wyya has won."
The artist vast potential is highlighted in current album “Set The Captives Free” on the Trinity Records label and singles “Bet Ya Never Know” & “Surprise” on the Reggae Vibes Productions Inc label. His smooth baritone expresses a variety of emotions, rebel soulfulness, joyful crooning and mesmerizing chanting. “I always give thanks to the Father for his blessing-both musically and spiritually.” Prince Theo.
